Mickey Mantle
Mickey Mantle played right field, center field, and first base for the New York Yankees during the 18 years of his career. He made the All-Star team 16 out of those 18 years and he won the AL MVP award 3 times. During his tenure with the Yankees they won 7 World Series’ and 12 pennants. Mantle played a vital role in all of these achievements, especially the World Series victories for which he holds several records. From the beginning his talent was recognized. Joe Dimaggio called him the best prospect he had ever seen. In 1974 Mantle was inducted into the Hall of Fame.
